Congratulations to Carys Williams who has been recognised for her work on a project to highlight additional care needs of patients.
Carys played an instrumental part in forming a process to identify frequent callers to the ambulance service who could benefit from extra support, which had not been previously highlighted by other means.
The project came about after Carys and her colleagues in the administration team had become aware of trends in frequent attendance at a number of individuals and became concerned that they may not be receiving the appropriate support within the community.
As a result Carys approached the Clinical Governance Lead and a process was introduced so that these concerns could be investigated leading to a number of patients being referred to HSC for a review of additional care and support.
Aimee Lihou, Clinical Governance Lead said: “The administration team’s role in assisting the service to provide high quality care to the community is often overlooked. This is a good example of collaborative working amongst the various emergency ambulance service teams for the benefit of our community.”
Carys recieved her award from the Chief Ambulance Officer, Mark Mapp and St John board member Jurat David Hodgetts.
