Guernsey’s new Joint Emergency Services Control Room went live yesterday.
All of the call handlers working for Guernsey Police, Fire and Rescue Service and St John Ambulance are now working in the same room, which should increase co-operation between the island’s emergency services.
In recent months both new and existing staff have undergone training designed to ensure all operators are equipped to deal with multi-service response calls.
