On Sunday 6th July, St John attended the “Motorsport Sunday 2014” event, which took place along the seafront of St Peter Port, the capital of Guernsey.
The event which included static displays of many different types of vehicles, along with a variety of
motor vehicle racing, was well supported by all the Guernsey Motorsport, Car, Bike, Historic Vehicle and Model Car Clubs, who enjoyed having the opportunity to showcase their vehicles to the public.
St John positioned an ambulance and Inshore Rescue Boat on one of the seafront piers as part of a tri-service static display, which also involved the Guernsey Fire & Rescue Service and the Guernsey Police.
In the Salerie car park in St Peter Port an event called the “Twisty Sprint” took place which involved the racing of motorbikes around a mini course marked out by cones, with each competitor trying to achieve the fastest time. An ambulance and crew were in situ to provide medical cover if required.
Despite a damp start to the day the sun did eventually come out and the event attracted large crowds.
