Thanks to everyone who came along to the Bailiwick Big Day Out in the grounds of Government House at the weekend.

St John Ambulance Guernsey volunteers were demonstrating one of the charity’s ambulances, as well as providing first aid cover for the event.

Meanwhile staff from the Emergency Ambulance Service were giving tours of the ‘Rainbow’ ambulance, which was sign-written during the coronavirus pandemic to help share a message of hope and togetherness.

We had queues of children wanting to look inside both of the ambulances for most of the day.

The public also had an opportunity to see the new Ypush carer controlled power wheelchair in action. The Ypush has been designed by Guernsey inventor Brian Harrison and is available to test and order from the St John Healthcare Shop at the Rohais.

Our colleagues from Guernsey Fire & Rescue and Guernsey Police were also at the event, along with lots of local charities and small businesses.

We are also hoping to be at other community events in the coming weeks, including the Guernsey Together Celebration in Saumarez Park and the 999 Emergency Heros Day at Oatlands (*subject to operational demand and availability).
