Volunteers from the Flying Christine III have been taking part in the RYA Sea Survival training, alongside volunteers from Channel Islands Air Search.
The course was run by Guernsey Sailing Trust and instructor Sacha Yabsley, who gave their time free of charge in recognition of the dedication and service of our volunteer marine ambulance crews and the Air Search crews. We are very grateful to the Sailing Trust and Sacha for their support for our work.
The course teaches survival theories and practical survival skills, including familiarisation with life jackets, life rafts and sea survival equipment, plus search and rescue techniques.
If you are boat owner or water user and venture offshore this course is for you! The next one day course takes place on Sunday 1st March.
