Congratulations to Emergency Medical Technician Brad Stuckey who has received a Commendation for his actions while attending a medical emergency last year.
Brad was transferring a critically ill patient to the Emergency Department at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital when he witnessed a bystander suffering a life-threatening event.
Brad immediately recognised the severity of the situation and acted quickly to give life saving medical treatment. He was promptly assisted by his colleague who had been in the back of the ambulance at the time.
Back-up was requested and another Paramedic who happened to be in the vicinity attended the scene. Two other healthcare professionals who were near-by also assisted, before both patients were transferred to hospital.
Brad was nominated for the commendation for successfully dealing with the demanding situation.
