Nine St John volunteers have recently completed training courses.
Six have achieved the BTEC Level 2 First Person on Scene (Intermediate) qualification – Andrew Bell, Nikita Gomes, Bradley Stuckey, Ben Nichols, Paul Renyard and Sarah Staples. The topics included the pre-hospital environment, patient assessment, basic life support and trauma related emergencies.
Martin Plowright, St John Healthcare shop manager, has attained the CMI Certificate Level 3 in First line Management, which develops the management skills and knowledge required in managing resources and leading a team.
Andrew Bell is the recipient of a second award, which is an RNLI-lead course for members of the Inshore Rescue Team that specialises in rescue techniques and casualty as well as other topics.
The CMI Level 2 Award for practising or aspiring team leaders was presented to EMT Sharon Le Cras. The qualification allows Sharon to develop in the role of a team leader.
