St John is commissioned by the States of Alderney as the provider of the ambulance service in Alderney. The service operates as an extension of the Guernsey service, under the clinical governance framework and leadership of Ambulance and Rescue Guernsey, with training and development opportunities aligned to the Guernsey operation.

Team Alderney

The team in Alderney consists of four full-time Emergency Ambulance Crew who are supported by a team of dedicated volunteer Community First Responders. There are two ambulance vehicles station in Alderney.
The crews will have 24/7 access by phone to senior ambulance clinicians based in Guernsey, as well as access to Alderney’s Island Medical Centre.

The ambulance station at Crabby boast one of the best views of any ambulance station in the British Isles.

The funding model for the service is based on the States of Alderney bearing the full costs of the operation, through the island’s tax system.
