A major incident has been declared at Southampton General Hospital following a fire early this morning (Sunday). Health & Social Care is in contact with NHS partners, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.
There is currently no indication that any Bailiwick patients at the hospital have been affected.
For those due to travel to Southampton for planned care tomorrow (Monday), our Off Island Team is working to minimise disruption, where possible. Appointments needing an overnight bed are cancelled, and we’re awaiting confirmation on whether others can go ahead virtually. Affected patients will be contacted directly. Anyone with concerns about upcoming travel for treatment can be sent to travel@gov.gg.
We’re working with other NHS hospitals to ensure safe access to emergency medevac care while Southampton manages its incident.
